The Structure of the Center

As one of its support services for researchers and students with young children, the Kyoto University Gender Equality Promotion Center provides a day care service for infants on public nursery school waiting lists.
Please note that the Day Care Room service is only available to Kyoto University students and researchers. The care service is commissioned to private company, and the university covers a portion of the cost of the service.
Those who wish to use the Day Care Room should apply to the Kyoto University Gender Equality Promotion Center after thoroughly reading the “Information for Applicants” below.

Registration and Admission Proces

1. ADVANCE REGISTRATION

Complete the Advance Registration Form ( PDFDOC ) and submit it to the Center. Be sure to attach a copy of your staff or student ID card, Notice of Employment, or other document that verifies your affiliation with Kyoto University. Send the form via e-mail to the Kyoto University Gender Equality Promotion Center.

2. HOW APPLY TO USE THE DAY CARE ROOM

Complete the Apprication Form ( PDFDOC) and Medical Report Form ( PDFXLS ) and submit them to the center at least one month in advance of the date on which you wish to commence using the service. Late applications (advance registration and application forms) may be accepted under certain circumstances. The copy of the Notice of Disapproval issued by the Welfare Office must be submitted prior to the scheduled admission date. In the event of any change in the details entered in the application materials, please fill out a Request for Change of Use Form and submit it to the center

3. NOTIFICATION OF APPLICATION RESULT

Applications shall be accepted or declined based on the decision of the director of the Gender Equality Promotion Center. Notification of the application result shall be sent the applicant. Priority shall be given to applicants who wish to use the Day Care Room five days per week.

4. RULES AND REGULATIONS

Users of the Day Care Room must abide by these Rules and Regulations as well as those detailed in the Day Care Room Handbook. (The handbook will be provided to all users of the Day Care Room)

5. REQUEST FOR CHANGE/CANCELLATION OF USE

Applicants who wish to make changes to an application after it has been accepted must do so by submitting a Request for Change of Use Form.

6. PAYMENT OF FEES

Fees for the Day Care Room service must be paid by the designated due date via the method designated by Kyoto University.

7. INSURANCE

Compensation for damage resulting from the use of the center’s facilities is covered by the Comprehensive Non-Life Insurance for National Universities. Compensation for damage resulting from the childcare service is covered by the liability insurance of the company that provides the child care service.

8. HANDLING OF PRIVATE INFORMATION

Private information collected by the center during the admission process shall be used only for the purposes of providing the Day Care Room service and communicating with the users of the service.
